Il y a près de trois ans, Electronic Arts a apporté son Medal of Honor série de la Seconde Guerre mondiale sur le thème de tir à la première personne sur le PC dans Medal of Honor Allied Assault, et ce jeu est devenu très influent. En combinant intense run-and-gun action de tir avec une atmosphère incroyablement authentique et quelques batailles set-pièce spectaculaire, Allied Assault a aidé à établir des normes élevées actuelles du genre. Apparemment innombrables autres tireurs de guerre sur le thème historiques ont été libérés depuis lors, il est devenu très difficile pour un tel jeu de se distinguer … ou même en compétition.
